Carol Lane is a consultant with 25 years of energy, defense and space community experience in policy, government relations and business development. She is currently working with X Energy, LLC (X-energy), as they work to develop a smaller, safer, next-generation (Gen IV) advanced nuclear reactor that expands reliable, zero-emission nuclear.
From 2003-2014, Carol served as Vice President of Washington Operations and Vice President of Civil and Commercial Space for Ball Aerospace & Technologies, Corp. Prior to joining Ball, Carol worked with the Federal Government, Congress, as well as over 18 years in industry with Lockheed Martin and TRW (Northrop Grumman), both in the operating plants and the Washington, DC office. She began her career working energy issues for Senator Jack Schmitt (R. NM) and then moved to both the Senate Commerce Committee and the Senate Budget Committee working energy and space issues. In 1988, President Reagan appointed Carol to serve as the Director of the Office of Commercial Space Transportation, under the Secretary of the Department of Transportation. Carol served as Vice President of Development for Achievement Rewards for College Scholars (ARCS) Metro Washington Chapter and currently is President of the American Astronautical Society. Carol is a graduate of George Washington University.
